Now don’t let anyone tell you there is anything wrong with walking to work. After all, you are saving money, getting some exercise, and looking after the environment as well, so really you are choosing the most heroic way of commuting!

However, walking can be the hardest way to get to work when you want to look your best from door to door, as you have the rain, and the cold to deal with in the winter. There is a solution that will enable you to still look fly when you’re pounding the pavement though.

It is to treat yourself to a stylish and practical winter coat. Something like a pea coat, or a decent wool tailored number, as this will keep you warm and dry no matter what the weather and ensure that you arrive to work looking the part too. Check out brands like Burberry as a good starting point, and remember to go for a hue that will complement the rest of your wardrobe well.

Now if you are more of a biker than a walker, you may have to approach the problem of looking your best while in locomotion a little differently. After all, it’s not just your fine self that you have to make sure is presentable, but also your trusty steed.

That means you need to choose your bike with care and think about how you will look and what you can wear while riding it, as well as its performance.

That is why many city gents are opting for a more vintage looking machine, one like the examples you can see at best cruiser bikes and in bike stores around the country. These machines are so popular because they are sophisticated and refined, and will look perfectly acceptable if ridden in office wear. Something that means you don’t have to clad yourself in neon spandex twice a day to get to work and home again!

The Train

Everybody knows that the easiest way to commute to work and keep looking your best is to ride the train. There you will be dry and protected from the worst of the weather, and you can even choose to stand if you prefer to ensure that your suit doesn’t get too creased before you reach the office.

However, you will still need to get from your home to the station and the station to your place of employ. Something that means you still remain at the mercy of the elements for a short time each day.

A stylish and practical solution to this is to invest in an umbrella, but of course not any old one will do. Instead, choose something designer like an Alexander McQueen Version replete with skull embellished handle. Alternatively, something a little less in your face but still super on trend, like the London Undercover classic umbrella may be just right for your stylish travels.
