Walk Tall: How To Finally Get Your Confidence Back!

Here’s what worked for me.

Confidence is one of those things that seems so simple and easy to achieve in theory, but the truth is that it’s actually incredibly difficult. In a world where we’re constantly bombarded with media of perfect looking people and where we, women especially, are held to a ridiculously unfair standard of beauty, feeling confident in who you are can often seem downright impossible.

And yet, despite that, feeling confident is not only possible but absolutely essential for being able to live a happy, fulfilling life. In order to help you break out of your cage, here are a few simple things that you can do in order to make yourself feel more confident.

Stand tall

Posture makes such a difference to how you feel on a day to day basis. If you’re nervous or apologetic about yourself, then you’re going to be constantly slouching, but that kind of bad posture can end up making you feel even smaller and less confident. Start standing up straight and walking tall. You’ll honestly be surprised at how much of difference it makes to your confidence levels.

Smile wide

A lot of studies have shown that smiling can actually improve your mood overall. Sure, that might sound backward, but it really can work. Being able to smile openly can make a huge difference to your entire mood, as well as how people respond to you. If you’re feeling nervous about your smile, then you should check out this article: http://teethwhiteningathometips.com/how-to-whiten-teeth-fast/. That way you can feel totally comfortable flashing those pearly whites.

Get your tunes pumping

There really is nothing quite like music to help you feel totally invincible. If you’ve got something you need to do and are nervous about, whether it’s a meeting at work, a job interview, or simply meeting a whole bunch of new people, then blastings some tunes that will get you pumped up can make you feel like you can take on just about anything. Just find some music that you really love and strut your stuff like you’re in your very own music video.

Look at yourself

One of the biggest reasons why a lot of people lack confidence is that they have a somewhat warped view of their own appearance. One of the very best ways to deal with that is to look at your face and really get used to it. Just spend some time looking in the mirror and coming to terms with your face, warts and all (though probably not literally).

You know one of the best ways to look at yourself and increase your confidence? Selfies. Selfies are a fantastic way to not only get used to how your face looks but also help you take pictures that show off the parts of yourself that you’re the most confident in. Not convinced? Check out this article that about how studies show that selfies really can boost your confidence: https://www.teenvogue.com/story/selfies-increase-confidence-body-image-study.

Sure, these are only a few things, and one of the best things that you can do is find the things that make you personally feel confident, whatever they are. But hopefully, these tips will give you a good starting point to finally start embracing the beautiful things about yourself.
