If you live on the internet like I do, you’ve for sure seen those gross but ultra-satisfying videos of peel-off black head removal masks.
These vids show dirt from nose pores super up close and how it gets pulled out by being stuck to the mask. It all looks so convincing, I just had to try one of these products myself.
So I ordered a black head removal mask from a popular Quebec city based online store, Charbon Noir. They have a good following and post a bunch of photos of girls trying their peel-off masks on their Instagram account. Charbon Noir claims that their products are made with natural and safe ingredients, so I was pretty much sold at this point.
Let’s focus on the mask, ’cause that’s the product I was dying to try. Last time I got a professional facial treatment with pore cleansing, the lady used a special tool on my face to squeeze out the bad stuff – it hurt SO much, I was in tears. So I was hoping this charcoal mask would be a less painful alternative.
It arrived to Thailand in a little less than two weeks neatly packaged and non-damaged. I couldn’t wait to post about it!
Quick advice – squeeze the substance directly on your nose, not on your fingers. I had a hard time washing it off my hand.
Trying to look Instagram appropriate while waiting for the mask to dry (about 30 min).
Can you see all the crap that came out of my pores?
My verdict – this mask is definitely worth a try. My only advice would be to do the procedure after a hot shower, so that your pores are open and ready to get cleaned. I applied the mask after washing my face with cold water (big no-no, it actually closes the pores) in the morning and it still managed to pull some shit out – it’s REALLY sticky. Also, you only need a small quantity of the product, so this container can last me like a year easy.
I’m curious to try their teeth whitening thingy too, has anyone tried it? Let me know if it works!
